What Ultimate Fluency students are saying:
Here's an email that the father of a client sent me after I worked with his son. (I received permission from Cathal to share this publicly)
Hi! My name is Marcus Lapp.
As a child, I stuttered on occasion but it was fairly mild.
That is, until I became a teenager – for whatever reason, I began to struggle more and more with stuttering when I was around 13-14 years old.
This led to me struggling with a stutter throughout my teen years and into my twenties.
From the pain of not ordering what I wanted at restaurants...
To the pain of feeling awkward and inadequate in my social life...
To the pain of feeling inferior and "less-than" in general – I've felt it all.
I've been there and I know what it's like to wonder, "Will I be stuck with this forever?"
That thought terrified me.
But thankfully, that's not where my story ends.
A few years ago, after trying to get "quick-fixes" through things like supplements and tricks, I realized I needed to go in a different direction.
That is when I discovered a coach online (in much the same way perhaps that you discovered me), and in working with him, I finally had a plan in place. I finally began climbing the mountain of fluency.
Here’s how I approached my speech journey: with diligence, consistency, and patience.
I was far from perfect but I stuck with it. Today, I am reaping the rewards of that commitment in so many incredible ways.
As a former stutterer, I know what it’s like to feel trapped – but I also know what it’s like to escape and find freedom in my speech.
I am now able to connect freely with people during my travels, such as when I'm staying in hostels.
I am now able to meet new friends, go on dates, and just strike up conversations with strangers, without worrying about my speech for one second.
I am now able to maximize my career and find fulfillment in my work because my speech is no longer a roadblock.
5 beautiful ways fluency changes your life
Allow me to share a few life-changing, and yes, beautiful realities about reaching high levels of fluency.
Every single one of these outcomes have been proven true in my own life. Anything is possible when you go all-in on changing your speech habits.
Spending time with my friends is much more fun now that I'm not concerned or anxious about stuttering.
1) You smile and laugh more often
Of course, overcoming a stutter doesn't mean all your problems go away, but it does remove a massive obstacle that has likely been causing an inordinate amount of stress and anxiety.
What happens when all that stress and anxiety subsides? You feel more free to smile, laugh, and simply enjoy the pleasures of life more fully!
2) You set yourself up to have wonderful dates and romantic experiences
By simply building up your confidence, overcoming your fears, and rising above your insecurities, you set yourself up to be a more enjoyable and fascinating person to be around.
This is not only valuable if you're single and exploring.
If you're in a relationship, it can also add a whole new level of depth and romance to your life.
Additionally, since you've broken the habit of being "in your head" all the time about stuttering and trying to avoid it, you now have the freedom to direct your attention to the person you're on a date with – which is a crucial part of any positive romantic encounter.
This area of my life is probably the one that has transformed the most as a result of becoming a fluent communicator. In my late teens and early 20s I was truly awful at the dating game.
Now don't get me wrong, I still make plenty of blunders and I'm far from perfect, but I have been able to increasingly experience exhilarating connections over the past couple years. The growth I've experienced in my speech played a big role in this and I'm truly grateful for it.
3) The repressed sides of your personality can now be expressed
Many stutterers who are natural extraverts actually become isolated and introverted due to the effects that stuttering has had on their lives.
This leads them to feel like they have no connection to their true inner personality, which is a very unpleasant feeling.
But when you become fluent – when you remove the roadblocks that are holding you back in life – you will be able to revive those repressed sides of your personality, such as your social charisma, a sense of lightheartedness, or your ability to engage in playful banter and storytelling.
4) Your dreams and goals for the future start to become real
Perhaps you've been neglecting to move forward in a career path that you really want.
Perhaps you are socially isolated even though you crave social connection.
Perhaps you've been experiencing more and more periods of depression that cause you to feel a complete lack of energy and motivation.
But imagine this: What would your life be like if you truly pursued the things you care about?
Very often, building fluency is the best way for people to get this process started. This approach works because they get to experience real transformation in one area of their lives (their speech), which then gives them the confidence to expand outward and pursue the goals and dreams that they've given up on.
There's nothing more delightful than the feeling of achieving things you once dreamt about.
5) You can prove everybody wrong who has ever laughed at you or mocked you
Think for a moment about all the times throughout your life when people have mocked you, bullied you, or just looked down on you because of your speech.
Now take all that anger, frustration, and resentment, and use that energy to prove everybody wrong!
I'm not going to tell you some anti-human "just be a nice guy" BS. Instead, I want to give it to you straight...
It's ok to feel strong emotions toward those who have treated you unfairly. That's a natural part of being a human with emotions.
But the key is how you direct that energy.
Holding a grudge and fighting back likely won't get you very far. And repressing and "pushing down" those emotions isn't healthy either.
Instead, you want to channel those strong emotions and let them drive you toward a life of success and achievement — whatever "success" and "achievement" mean to you.
As the saying goes, "Success is the best revenge." Building yourself up and becoming more successful, kind, likable, loving, and powerful than those who mistreated you – that's the ultimate revenge.
It’s been a wild ride. Just a few short years ago, I couldn’t even imagine being able to enjoy the level of fluency I now have.
But it shouldn’t be surprising. I was committed and diligent in the process of changing my speech and I stuck through the ups and downs. My fluency didn’t happen on accident, I was very intentional about it. And that’s what I teach others to do here at Speak Your Mind Method.
But please understand: This isn’t a magic button – it’s a healing process.
You're contending with years (and possibly decades) of psychological trauma from hundreds and thousands of difficult stuttering experiences.
The author Dawson Church once wrote: "Healing is a process, not an event."
And that is very much the philosophy underneath Ultimate Fluency.
Yes, it will take time.
Yes, there will be setbacks along the way.
But all the difficulties and pain you'll feel during the healing process will pale in comparison to the joy and freedom you'll feel when fluency starts to run the show.
I know what it’s like to go through the entire process from stuttering to fluency. I’ve done it, I know what it feels like, I know the ups and downs, and I know what it takes to achieve incredible fluency.
Whether it’s your speech, a new language, swimming, or playing the piano – it’s not meant to be easy.
You might blindly assume that the way I talk in my videos is how I’ve always sounded. That’s completely untrue. I used to sound incredibly inarticulate and choppy. It took lots of practice and time to reach where I’m at today.
But it was worth every penny I spent and worth every ounce of energy.
So when it comes to freeing yourself from blocking and stuttering, I know it’s easy to fall back into a wishful mindset and hope for a magic pill to come along.
But believe me, the magic pill isn't coming. Your speech freedom is up to you. It’s not going to happen overnight, but you can absolutely transform your speech.
Be Careful! BAD Advice and BAD Viewpoints are EVERYWHERE...
As someone who is a speech mentor for a living, I've just about seen it all when it comes to awful advice that is out there.
Here are three of the many awful phrases bad players in this field will peddle:
"JUST ACCEPT IT!!!"
And???
While acceptance of your current state is important, so many people just repeat this phrase without anything to balance it out on the other side.
The idea that simply accepting stuttering will cure it is about as reliable as saying that you'll start singing well if you accept that you suck. Good luck with that strategy.
Yes, acceptance is important in the right context. You want to be accept the past and embrace the present moment exactly as it is. But then go put in the work and dedicate yourself to changing! That's the crucial "other side of the coin" that you cannot do without.
"SOCIETY IS UNFAIR AND IT SHOULD CHANGE THE WAY IT VIEWS STUTTERING"
In an ideal world, this sounds wonderful... but as anyone who has matured beyond the worldview of a 10-year-old knows, we don't live in an ideal world!
People who suggest that "society is the problem" when it comes to stuttering almost always have deep victim mentalities.
They also tend to be blind to their own lack of empathy with the unique struggles that other people go through. None of us are saints here.
And here's the uncomfortable truth:
Go ahead and blame society every day for the rest of your life – and here's what will happen:
- Fluent speakers will still be more successful at dating and making new connections.
- Fluent speakers will continue to get promotions more often than non-fluent speakers.
- Fluent speakers will continue to have better social lives than those who stutter.
I'm not trying to be mean or insensitive. I've felt the excruciating pain that stuttering causes, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
But at the end of the day, we still have to be honest.
Society places a high value on fluency, articulateness, and communication skills – You and I are not going to change that.
The best option we have is to adapt to the nature of society around us. Here's how we do it as it pertains to speech: Go become the most fluent and articulate speaker you can be.
This is the path I've taken and I'm deeply grateful that I did.
"You can overcome stuttering in 5 days!"
(P.S. Just pay me $5,000)
This kind of claim is the most ridiculous bullshit out there and it infuriates me that there are speech coaches making claims like this.
The truth is this: Your brain has a pace and a rhythm to it. You're NOT going to change the speed of your brain.
It takes at least a few weeks to develop new speech habits, and most often, it takes a few months.
If you want results that last 5 days, go waste $5k on a 5-day course.
But if you want fluency that lasts a lifetime, then you've come to the right place.
Ultimate Fluency is here to help you...
🌅 Rise above your anxieties and fears when speaking to friends, family members, and work colleagues
🧠 Become a master of your own psychology and then use that knowledge to help you overcome your stuttering and blocking habits
😎 Discover your best self, achieve your dreams, and live the life YOU want to live
INTRODUCING...
As someone who has heard countless stories of people having negative experiences with institutional speech therapy, I knew I needed to do something about it.
The speech therapy industry has been losing credibility for a long time, and nothing makes me more upset than hearing how completely lifeless many speech therapy practices are.
Today, you can join this movement of turning speech therapy into something positive and life-changing.
Ultimate Fluency includes an exact, step-by-step approach for rising above the physical struggles of stuttering AND the psychological struggles.
This program focuses on the holistic approach to improving your speech, not merely the external symptoms of stuttering or blocking.
You will finally have a complete, long-term plan in place for actually achieving fluency and freedom in your speech.
No, it’s not a quick-fix. If that’s what you're after, then this isn’t the program for you.
If, however, you are the type of person who is willing to work hard and be patient in the process, the results you experience with a plan like this are the kind of results that last for the rest of your life. That’s the power of playing the long game.
In this 1-on-1 mentorship program you will learn how to...
- Take the HOLISTIC approach and learn powerful insights and lessons that not only transform your speech, but also your life as a whole
- Achieve quick, short-term successes and then use that as motivation for achieving long-term transformation of 95% fluency and beyond.
- Become so skilled in your speaking ability that you never worry about stuttering again. Will you be 100% cured? Probably not. I'm not completely cured. But I NEVER worry about it anymore. Stuttering no longer keeps me from the life I want to live. Just imagine how amazing that would be!
My Ultimate Fluency program is here to help you overcome stuttering and blocking, but ALSO, it exists to help you become a master of your own psychology.
Here is what it means to be a master of your psychology...
- You understand your own mind and emotional states.
- You understand the minds and emotions of OTHERS. This makes you more likable in your social life.
- You become great at learning new habits (and reaching mastery) because you understand your own strengths and weaknesses.
What will the 1-on-1 sessions look like?
My approach is super focused on the individual. No two clients receive the exact same guidance because everyone has slightly (and sometimes drastically) different needs.
But in general, the mentorship sessions will often follow a 3-step pattern like this:
1. We'll review the past week, reflect on how your social interactions went, and make any adjustments or updates to your plan to make sure you're getting the most out of it. (About 20 minutes)
2. We may work on actually practicing your skills live on the call. The approach I use most often is by asking you a list of random questions, and then you'll focus on implementing specific strategies as you answer. (About 15 minutes)
3. And then for the last 10 minutes (or so) of the session, we will dial in a solid plan for the next week — little challenges, exposure therapy ideas, etc.
My role as your mentor is very similar to that of a personal trainer. I'm here to meet you exactly where you are, and then we'll work together to get you where you want to go!
Start Your Plan Now...
Here are a few more details about Ultimate Fluency:
Accountability leads to results. That’s why the weekly 45-minute therapy sessions are so powerful. As your speech mentor, I will lead you and direct you in much the same way as a personal trainer would for their clients.
You also have the option to add the premium 75 Day Sprint course to your plan. This self-study course will serve as your general source of education and guidance, and then the Zoom sessions will add the critical accountability and the personalized 1-on-1 training.
And don’t worry, if life happens and you need to take a couple weeks off, me and the program will be ready for you when you return with no penalties or lost sessions. My path to fluency wasn’t perfect and so I don’t expect you to be perfect either. We'll work together to achieve the heights of fluency and even though it will be challenging at times, it will also be incredibly enjoyable!

3 LIES people tell themselves about their speech.
LIE #1: "I don’t have what it takes."
The sheer fact that you’re alive and reading this webpage immediately signals that you DO have what it takes. Meaning: you are here looking for answers, hungry for solutions. Those are the exact qualities you need.
The reason you haven’t reached your speech goals in the past isn’t because you’re a failure – you just never had a good plan that you stuck with for long enough.
Trust me, you have what it takes. You are a human being, and human beings are capable of far more than overcoming a stutter.
LIE #2: "I’m too busy"
While I empathize with this, it’s just untrue.
As any good parent would tell you, “it doesn’t matter how busy I am, I can always find the time to take care of my kids.”
It’s a matter of priority. Nine years ago when I started this journey, I had a full-time job and I was obsessed with recording music. But I decided that, for a season, I would prioritize my speech practice and I wouldn’t let anything get in the way.
LIE #3: "It’s too expensive."
I want to be extra careful with this one because I know there are people (and you might be one of them) that truly can’t afford my programs.
But if that’s you then you should be treating my free workshop and YouTube channel as your program. I give away so much for free because I want everyone to get access to the core techniques and approaches to my method.
But again, if you think my programs are too expensive, think about how much value your speech has in so many jobs and careers.
As I like to say: the difference between stuttering and fluency could be the difference between making $30k/ year and making $300k/ year. THAT is the power of achieving excellence in your speech.
Beyond that, think about how much better your social life would be if stuttering and speech anxiety were no longer a problem. You can’t put a price on good relationships and connections.
Stop waiting for fluency to come to you. Make your decision now.
This is your chance to finally stop procrastinating and actually start doing something about your speech.
My friend,
10 years from now, I don’t want you to look back in regret that your speech has remained the same.
You can do this. It won’t happen on its own and you need a plan, but you can do this. I have full confidence that you’ll succeed in reaching the incredible fluency you dream about.
I believe in you because every month I get new comments and testimonials from students who are seeing incredible transformation in their speech. Look at these:
“I’ve had other speech therapists but you are by far the best.” - Jevareio
“I’ve seen a drastic improvement in my speech after years of searching for a solution.” - Joseph
“I have one, maybe two minor stutters a day, if that. Fluent now for 2 months. Can’t sing Marcus’s praises enough.” - Robert
→ You might feel cloudy about what it takes to reach fluency.
→ You might even be unsure what it would actually FEEL like to change your speech habits.
But a little mystery and uncertainty never hurt anyone, right? Those feelings are a part of every big endeavor.
The most important step for you to take is right in front of you right now.
Think about it...
In just a few minutes, you could finally have a plan in place for achieving a lifetime of amazing fluency.
In just a few days, you could have experienced a couple breakthroughs as you begin to implement the system.
In just a few weeks, you could have expanded your fluency so much that your friends and colleagues begin to notice this updated and improved version of you being displayed.
In just a few months, you could have a completely different life.
If you’re ready, this decision can change your life forever.
Saying YES can give you a life of freedom, opportunity, and exciting experiences.
But it’s up to you. Only you have the power to make the choice.
If you’re still reading at this point, I think it just might be time for you to go all in and see for yourself.
The choice begins and ends with you. I’m ready when you are.
